Description

Hylands park has 574 acres to walk in! Most of it can be off lead, the only part I know that is on lead is the gardens surrounding Hylands house (dogs aren't allowed in the house either) and sometimes around the lakes out the back of the house when the birds are nesting on the islands (very easy to avoid). There are woodlands, plenty of grasslands and a couple of places for a dip to cool off too. There are so many places to walk and enjoy at Hylands park. Near the house there is a cafe (does lovely hot chocolates!) where you are welcome to sit outside with your dogs (on lead area). They do a range of food but we've not sampled it yet apart from the cakes, which were lovely! There are three different car parks, all free. The one closest to Hylands house tends to be busier. Hylands park / house may have events on so sometimes one car park may be much busier than the others depending on where in the park the event is being held. It is also the venue for the V festival so I would always do a quick google to see if anything is on before you go!! The brilliant W.H.A.M fun dog show is also held yearly at Hylands park.

Really glad to have found this site - and so are my dogs!! Looking forward to a trip round Hylands Park, Chelmsford and being able to eat at a nice cafe (dogs in tow!).
