Description

Hardcastle Crags is based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. It is a National Trust woodland which is very well maintained. The walk is easy but can be a little precarious negotiating the stones which have been set out for steps. It is a circulator walk which is fabulous for dogs and incorporates a wonderful cafe at Gibson Mill (dog friendly on quieter days with seating outside if busy). There is a beautiful shallow river running through the woodland which is a haven for dogs. Highly recommend this walk!

I went here today with my dogs they were off lead all the time and loved it. They loved the river as much as the woods. We are definitely going back there ☺

I took my Beagle here and he absolutley loved it! If your a member of the National Trust you can park for free. It's a beautiful place. Ozzy was able to run free off his lead.

I went here today with my doodles and they loved it. Off the lead entire time. Kept to the path that ran along the river through the woodland so there was no cattle for them to disturb. Lots for them to sniff and explore which did mean we managed going on a walk without the need for me to need to throw a ball the entire walk!

Had our Labrador off the lead most of the time. She loved the woodland area and loved the shallow river even more for a splash. Nice little cafe too at the mill to stop off for refreshments.

A wonderful walk for dogs and people. The rocky path by the river is quite slippy and uneven and those who are not sure of foot might find it difficult. It is worth noting that the ticket machine at the car park is five pounds and doesn’t take notes or cards, no problem if you are a National Trust member as it is free.

Yes it is expensive to park. I was not aware dogs were allowed in the cafe? Are you sure Hotdogwalks?
