Parking is free at the two designated car parks, warning do not park anywhere else because as remote as it is you may get a ticket. The main walk is a scenic mainly gravelled path around the reservoir approximately 1 mile through woodland on one side which is secure from road and no farm animals so you can let well behaved dogs roam free.
There are many other walks along forest roads and through a network of woodland up left and right directly away from the reservoir and car park although you will have to have your dog on a lead as there can be a few sheep and cattle about.
It is unfortunately not wheel chair friendly apart from 2 spaces at the dam end for access to that area.
For refreshments the village of Osmotherley is about half a mile away with a few pubs, cafe and a local shop serving good food, also in the summer months in school holidays and on a weekend an ice cream van is usually present in the main car park.

We could not find this listed under Cleveland. It is North Yorkshire - Northallerton postcode. Locals at dog friendly pub made sure we knew it was North Yorkshire. The Cleveland Way passes through and the 5.5mile circular route via the Reservoir is great but immensely packed with good weather. Be aware ticket wardens if you park out onto country lane. -

Lovely walk, was able to let my spaniel pup run on a long line and he loved exploring and was a perfect length for a young dog -

Beautiful spot . Not many car park spaces and no bins on the way round- but simply a gorgeous place. -

Great little walk. Popular, but as long as your dog is OK with other dogs and people, they can be off lead all the way round the reservoir.
