These are 2 parks in the centre of Grantham town. Created in 1924 Wyndham Park is the busier hub, a small area where you can park for free and facilities are. It is also a war memorial park. There are several small loops, a sensory garden, playing field and a pleasant promenade along the river that leads to a few more open fields. We wandered here and then had tea and cake at the dog friendly cafe on the bowling green. 4 stars from Humphrey! After this we headed out of the park, over the road to Queen Elizabeth park. A much larger riverside walk. 25 acres of country park, formerly grazing meadow. You can follow the river path to Belton. Loads of space to run off lead, jump into the river, snuffle in wooded areas and gallop. Humphrey is a small dog and he enjoyed both. Both parks are well looked after and have won awards. Loads of bins, benches and is well loved by dogs. Lots of friends to play with. Peaceful place for a town centre. We drove 35mins to get here and stayed 2 hours. You could stay longer and do the full route 15 riverside walk.
