Avebury Loop

From the National Trust car park, walk towards the village. Turn right towards the pub and cross straight over into a lane with cottages either side. Continue past a dairy farm and onto a chalk track that climbs up. Eventually you meet the Ridgeway path and turn right. Continue until the path meets a small narrow car park. Cross over down another tree-lined path eventually crossing a stream. Walk past a grand house on the right and turn immediately right down a pathway between cottages. Turn right into the village of East Kenneth. Carry on the main road past houses and once they finish, and before a bridge crossing the river, turn right down a tree-lined path. Continue to a farm and junction, turning right. Before reaching the river again, turn left along a farm track and through fields (West Kenneth Long Barrow is on your left), to a kissing gate. Turn right and walk to the main road. Through kissing gate, cross road and through gate. Silbury Hill is on your left and continue back to NT car park. Great open spaces for dogs to to run and minimal livestock.
