Dunkery Beacon is the highest point on Exmoor. It's well pathed from a number of side of the road car parIt's a remote, high area, and needs good footwear and energetic dogs. Be prepared for the weather to change and it be colder than you may be used to, even in summer. You'll need water for both yourself and the dogs.
Views from the top are spectacular, over to Wales and Dartmoor, so they tell us. However every time we've been there the cloud hasn't been very cooperative. Dogs will love the long free walk - ours do, and it's quite popular but not crowded.
