About this walk

Black Combe is a peak of 600m, you begin at St Mary’s church which has an honest policy and asks for a small donation to the church as payment for using the car park so make sure you have some change on you. Then to begin the walk you go past the church using the passageway which will lead you out to a lane. Turn left and walk on the lane past the farm and residential properties. When the path splits in two, take the right hand path. From here the climb is a steep one but not impossible, the path is clear and continue to follow this till the summit. Once at the summit you can take a number of routes, you can either come back down the way you came or you can head northwards and climb down the opposite side and follow a grassy track, before coming to a stone wall. Once at the stone wall there is a path that follows parallel to this. Continue on the path and you will find a number of waterfalls that are crystal cereal and running down towards the village. As you pass an old shepards hut you should come to a farm path with some houses you follow this track down to the main road, once you join the road turn left and continue your walk to the church using the road.
