This walk can be quite muddy in wet weather, please bear in mind that there may be farm animals in some of the fields, so care should be taken to keep to the edge of the fields and keep gates closed
Turn right out of the back of the Hotel onto the minor road, carry straight on to the cross roads. Turn right and carry straight on' to Kirkland Cottage. Turn left in front of the cottage down the lane and through the gate (sign posted as a foot path) and downhill to the Graveyard.
Feel free to explore the graveyard, it is an extraordinary place. Then carry on along the path, where it splits, bear right toward Kirkbog Farm. Follow the Path through the farm. Cross Cample Water and follow the stream to the right to the road.
Tum right and then right again at the cross roads (turning left and following the road up hill and straight on for half a mile-will take you into Thornhill where you will find a number of interesting craft shops, boutiques and Tea rooms), back over Cample Water and steeply uphill toward Templand Mains.
Take the left hand drive sign posted to Templand Mains holiday cottages and then the first gate on the right into the field. Turn left and uphill around the garden to the style, over the style turn right and follow the line of the fence toward the woods, go through the gate into the woods and past the wood man's Cottage down to the beginning of the hotel drive bear right back up to the hotel.
