We went here recently but took the upper wood walk away from the reservoir. It was brilliant. -

We absolutely love walking here with our dog - Annie. Wear comfy shoes as the paths along the top can be a little uneven. There is a pub and a cafe at the end (or beginning) of your walk where you can sit and have a nice cool-off drink and a snack. Perfect for dog walkers as you aren't really at the side of the road until the very end where your dog may need to be on a lead for ten/fifteen minutes. -

Haven't made it completely round the reservoir yet, however we love exploring the woods. Sully's favourite is the shallow part of Little Don River; he can paddle while the humans have a cuppa and admire the views. -

Lots of off-lead opportunities, good paths at the start of the circular walk, but you need decent boots for some of the circuit when the path goes up onto the fell. A few drinking opps (for dogs) and a pub (for humans). If you get to "sort of" style before you get onto the road (or when you get to go off the road, depending which way you are going), track back up the fence and go through the gate. Whatever you do, do not try to lift a 35kg Aussie Shepherd over a wall. Not that I tried that, erm, it was definitely someone else. -

A decent walk, though got a bit frustrated as Sydney had to be on lead a lot of the time. We did the circular walk, but there were areas with sheep, so back on lead. And then areas with large areas of shrub with possible nesting birds. It’s was quite hilly with a long shallow climb. A nice walk, but depending on your dogs needs there are better.
