With its breathtaking vistas, the Dove Stone area of Saddleworth offers visitors the chance to explore part of the Peak District National Park.

There is an extensive network of footpaths and considerable moorland area with open access.

In addition there is a wheelchair circuit around the reservoir and a permanent orienteering course.

Dovestone Reservoir is the best place in Oldham to see plantation woodlands, which contain a mixture of conifer trees.

There is a car parking charge at this site.

Beautiful walk, always see plenty of people and dogs, can usually let mine off the lead bit only when quiet. Can get into the water at some stages of the walk also.

Lovely almost completely flat walk. Off lead is fine and spots for dogs to go in the water. Parking £1.10 for 2 hrs (Aug 23) contactless or cash. Snacks and ice-cream vans & a few dog friendly pubs nearby. We went to The Clarence which was delicious.
