We welcome well-behaved dogs (and their owners!) in parts of the parkland where you can both enjoy a peaceful walk. The parkland is open from 9am so you can enjoy an early-morning stroll away from the bustle later in the day. Our dog-walking route takes between 20 minutes and an hour, depending on your route and walking pace. It's perfect for dog-walkers looking for a short to medium stroll rather than a full day out with your dog. Check the link below to see the route. Please: 1. Keep your dogs on a short lead (not extendable) at all times. 2. Clear up after your dog – lots of bins are provided along the dog-walking route and in the car park. 3. Stick to the clearly marked dog-walking route – conservation of our wildlife and livestock is paramount. 4. Please be aware that when our sheep have lambs with them and the deer are dropping their fawns there may be some electric fencing around areas of the parkland. To keep our herds stress-free, we ask that all dogs are kept on leads at all times. 5. Consider one of the public footpath routes from our car park instead, if you know your dog gets excitable around livestock. Our friendly VR team will point you in the right direction. 6. Note that dogs in doggy strollers and doggy backpacks are permitted only on the dog-walking route. 7. Bear in mind that there’s plenty of space for everyone, but please remember that some of our visitors are not comfortable around dogs.
