A lovely walk over the Welcombe Hills Hills. Good off lead walk. Lots of different paths to explore. Loads of other dog walkers too.
At times there are cows in the fields an the occasional horse & rider. Deer & badgers in the area.Parking is free can be busy and the parking area is a bit rutted but you can park on the road.

Can someone give directions to the car park? I can't see it at 223 Clopton Rd when looking at google maps... -

No I didn't - we haven't done the walk yet as we aren't really sure where to go & don't want to drive all the way there and not find the start & car park. Do let me know if you know it. -

Just drive up to the end of The Clopton road. You'll see parking spaces and find the car park at the end. You really can't go wrong. -

In terms of 'cows in the fields' - are these fields ones that you walk through? My dog has pretty good recall and I really want him to have a good romp, but not if he's going to get himself in trouble if he decides to ignore me! -

Planning on going here next Sunday. Are there any changes to restrictions etc that we would need to know about? Thanks in advance x -

Walked here today, really nice walk. For those driving, simply get onto Clopton rd and follow it to the end. You come to a cattle grid junction. You can choose to stop and park here, or cross it and drive through to the car park. If it’s damp or been raining, it’s definitely a walk that needs wellies!

Went for a walk here today and its very nice walk, it will be hilly in places and they can be steep for some. You can do a nice circular walk and to park the car, you just need to follow Clopton Road to the end, and then you will see a small cattle grid, just drive over that a short way and you will get to the car park. -

Fantastic area for dog walking. How have we never been here before we asked ourselves! Dogs absolutely loved it, so much to sniff and investigate 🐾👍 -

Great suggestion. Had my wellies, plenty of good undulating ground and vegetation for my two small dogs to explore and a nice view for me at the top of the hill. Did 40 min loop and back to the car which was free.
