In the heart of Bristol there is the Historic docks, although your dog must be kept on the lead it is still fun to explore. Walk up one side and the catch a small ferry for 70p to the otherside (dogs free!) to Brunels SS Great Britain, or keep walking further out where the docks join the River Avon for a view of Brunels Suspension Bridge. Lots of cafes, bars and icecream vans to enjoy a snack outside. Can be very busy when the harbourside festivals are on but a great atmosphere for a stroll around.
