A beautiful wood .... national trust. Lovely for all ages, dogs on or off lead, lots of oaths and interesting and things like the statue for daylight saving, a large meadow and a farm. Some small streams and the possibility of parking at the tunnel entrance and walking through to one of the pubs in chislhurst. Lovely blue bells and great variety of mushrooms and toadstools in season .

Had no idea this was just on our doorstep, a great place to let the dog off and use up all his energy! There is a public bridleway too so be aware you may see horses so if your dog isn't good on recall safest to keep them on a lead. Thankfully our cocker spaniel is!

Location details
Petts wood. Several entrances but possibly the best is under the railway tunnel at the bottom of birchwood road. Parking on side of the road is mostly free after 10am.
