Grantchester Meadows

Visit the famous Grantchester Meadows and quaint English village. You can walk right into Cambridge City Centre in under 1 hour.

We parked in Grantchester village and walked straight onto the meadows. There are several points in the village that you can get down to them, so don't worry. There is a hard path or you can walk on the meadows right by the river. Dogs should be on leads but there is lots of open space if you have a long lead. Don't let that put you off.

It is flat and easy walking. Watch out for Cow poop though. Some dogs might be able to get down to the water to paddle or swim. In the summer you will get the punts coming up the river but they are quite slow.

Follow the path towards Cambridge and you come out at Skaters meadow and then go through Paradise nature reserve. Follow the residentual road called Grantchester Meadows briefly. You end up at Lammas Land. Another open wide meadow with streams.

For those that want quiet, follow various trails. Or go along the backs of the colleges for great views. There are loads of doggy pals doing the same.

Toilets on route, animals on route and probably walkers and bikes in the summer. Prob quite busy in warm weather. We've been in cool weather and it is much quieter.

A very scenic route with lots of options to suit, dogs love it. Food and drink at Grantchester and Cambridge ends.
