This 17km (11 mile) walk starts and finishes at the Sutton Hoo National Trust car park. An alternative start point, avoiding the National Trust entry, is shown on the map above. Although this still takes you through the National Trust site, it uses rights of way which are free.
There are numerous footpath options, allowing you to shorten or lengthen the walk to suit your abilities. The route affords great views of the river estuary and local farmland. If you walk slowly enough, you can view that muddy low tide and the watery high tide.
