One of my favourite areas to walk, apparently the park is 750 acres, has access to the back of Petworth House, glorious lakes and a beautiful uninterrupted views. Once you move away from the main road, you can believe that you are in the middle of no-where. There are quite a lot of deer, but they seem unfazed by people and dogs.

Was lucky enough to live in one of the lodges of this park for 5 years. A1 place for dogs, for short or longer walks. Beware the green algae in the summer months, on the the main lake-deadly to dogs- but signs are usually put up if there is a bloom. Just make sure you get to the lakeside before your dog. The deer share the park with a herd of Black Welsh Mountain sheep so leads are advised unless you have 100% recall with distractions. Due to the rolling ground, your dog will know the livestock is there well before you spot it. It's possible to park in the laybys next to the lodges on Tillington Road rather than in the town car park, with care of course not to obstruct access to the lodges.
