Ettrick Bay is a beautiful long stretch of sand on the Isle of Bute, Bute and Argyll. What's more, because of the vagaries of the Scottish weather, walkers tend to have it pretty much to themselves. Stunning views, overlooking the neighbouring island of Arran and dogs are welcome all year round. At the start of the beach is a wonderful old-fashioned tea rooms, called Ettrick Bay Tea Rooms, where the most delicious coffee and walnut cake is well-deserved after a stomp along the sand.
