About this walk

This area offers a good mix of paths to walk on but also the opportunity to go 'off road' in amongst the trees.

There are three mapped out routes that can be taken (with distances and routes shown at the entrance) or you can just freestyle.

For those interested there is also a marked out Walk 4 Life route.

This area is wetland so if you have a dog that likes water (or mud) there is an opportunity here for them to get nice and wet (almost all year round).

Some nice open spaces allow some ball games or the opportunity to just sit down and enjoy your surroundings.

There are signs at the entrances to Southwood Woodlands stating dogs must be kept on leads.

This is a former golf course, lots of open spaces for dogs to be let loose. Clear pathway around the edge. Takes about 40 mins to do one circuit. Parking at both ends, with a new car park opened where the golf club used to be. Have to cross the road to get to the walk, can be a bit of a wait. Follow the signs to an easier car park.

Nice walk, lots of different pathways, so ideal if you have to veer off with a nervous dog.
