A great walk. There are four routes through the forest. I took the 'Blue Pond Lodge' route which is about 2.5 miles off lead and through the wilderness. At the furthest point there is a pond where we watched fishermen in the sun. It's muddy in places, but I'm sure that gets better in summer. There are also a few steep hill parts which require going up about 20 stairs. Parking is £4 for 3 hours. The cafe area is full of children, scouts and pushchairs. Further out into the forest it's certainly more peaceful.
