This is a really pretty circular walk, encompassing both forest land and open spaces. It takes you past some beautiful old stables and the back end of Minley barracks. There are several places to park, but the location in the map is a good one. As you are going down Minley Road, you will notice an unusual looking house opposite the entrance to Blackbushes Road. You can park in this turning circle, as long as you leave plenty of space for other people to park and drive through. From there, you will see an overgrown path which takes you into the woods. Follow this and get exploring!! (If you go to the end, turn left on the paved road and then turn right almost straight away, this will take you to the stables and barracks). WARNING: pheasants have recently been released, so if you have a dog who is likely to hunt, you may want to avoid this one.

If you have nervous dogs or are not sure best avoid all together - there is a busy and live demolition range nearby and although you won't accidentally walk onto it (as it is marked with red flags when they are setting off explosions) the noise can be horrendous. I've been a few times when that has happened and it literally makes the ground shake. Problem is you won't necessarily know when the bangs will go off as the flags are often hidden and on other side of wood. Also worth bearing in mind that it is MOD land with MOD Police, Service and Safety vehicles driving around (and owners with dogs found off lead and chasing wildlife have been reported to Rural Police) so tread responsibly! -

Good. Muddy ground in wet weather. Woods and parkland. May be difficult to park
