Long wide sandy beach, perfect for dog walking. The walk would take about an hour into Troon from The Pow Burn KA9 1UH, at Monkton beach. You can walk one way and get the train back the other, if you wish. Trains run ever half hour on the Ayr to Glasgow line, which has a train station at Troon and one at Prestwick Airport (train time about 5 mins).
