A protected woody area, where you can walk for miles and lose yourselves in the blue bells, or in the leaves of Autumn when it is stunning. There are various paths to suit everyone with strategic benches in places with views plus wild ponies roam it so it is gated and safe. Free parking (donations welcome), small cafe and toilets open when the cafe is. Wellington boots needed often but there are disabled/pushchair friendly paths. Just a mile or so from Hampshire, it is easy to get to and very pleasant on a hot day as plenty of shady trees. Children can make wood dens, there are nature walks to follow and a play area with picnic tables.
Nature Reserve
This walk has been marked as a nature reserve. Dogs are usually welcome however restrictions may apply.
Each nature reserve has its own rules regarding dog walking, and some may not allow dogs. Kindly keep an eye out for the relevant signs within the reserve or visit the reserve's website before your visit for more information.
In most nature reserves, it's kindly requested to keep dogs on a lead at all times. Allowing dogs to roam off-lead can create issues or cause distress to livestock and wildlife.
If you see other visitors, please put your dog on lead whilst you are walking near them. Nature reserves are for the benefit of wildlife and frequently host educational visits.
Some nature reserves have dog poo bins, but if you can’t find one please take the waste home with you.
