About this walk
A fantastically varied walk in the city. Big open views, woods and wild flowers - a big enough area to really stretch the legs. Purdown is a popular local dog walking spot, but as it's so big it never gets too busy. I'm always discovering new corners to explore. There is also the remains of a WW2 Gun Battery by iconic telecoms tower.
Beautiful Bluebells in some areas of the woods in Spring and lovely wildflowers in the lower fields.
Occasionally they bring livestock in but I've still not seen any!
For a longer walk you can join up with the river at Snuff Mills and Oldbury court by crossing the motorway at the bottom of the field by the Yellow House.
There's easy free parking all around and a small car park located at the walk marker.

The green space shown on the map is misleading - the space fills that entire wedge above the M32 up to the lakes.
