About this walk
Haldon Forest has loads of walks and cycle trails, there’s something for everyone. There’s a cafe, cycle and Segway hire.
The map in the carpark will help you decide which route to take, from easy shorter walks to long harder ones if you like to be more adventurous. It’s all signposted along the way so you can’t get lost.
Along the route there are things for little ones to do like a big wooden xylophone and huts to play in as well as great views (although as you can see from my pictures it was foggy when we visited!) A great walk for everyone!

We did the butterfly trail (6km) with 3 children (13, 9, 6) and a labrador. Great walk, some climbs but other trails are flatter. A few hidden ponds which our lab sought out and mud bathed in! 6 year old was tired but managed the whole walk! Labrador is never tired out but slept well that night! -

Great walk, but be aware we share paths with mountain bikers. Mostly flat and well drained for winter walks. Nice cafe near car park. -
