About this walk

This is a flat 2 mile flat circuit through the Fishlake Meadows nature reserve, along the old canal. There are opportunities for your dog to paddle and chase stones. We like to go clockwise round so that Nelly (the dog) can run free at the start and save the lead part until she has bounced and paddled.

Wonderful regular walk of ours, which we found thanks to your recommendation. Hector is extremely friendly and loves the high chance of meet new friends here. Having moved down from Glasgow this was our first perfect find for a beautiful, off lead walk. With enormous gratitude!

The path is quite narrow so dogs running up and down rather than in open space, lots of little spots to jump into the water for a stick, both still water and fast flowing (when we went, the level was high). A bit along the road. Bring wellies or waterproof walking boots. Nice walk for dogs to sniff on. We'll come back. 6-6.5/10 from Milton!

Pleasant walk in the Springtime sunshine. Limited by the lockdown so didn’t go too far. Frequent places to enter the stream for a dip and lots of bins along the way.

During lockdown, there are stretches of this route that are rather narrow and hard to maintain social distancing. Link → has routes in Romsey which are suitable for maintaining 2 metres between walkers.

Great walk with our Cocker Spaniel. Wrap up warm out of summer months! Took a few drives around the nature reserve before we found the car park which is by a new build residential area, you can find on what3words location: Link →
