A wonderful safe place to walk your dogs, it has hilly and flat areas, forest walks and plenty to explore. You can walk your dog off lead safely but be aware that the car park can get busy and there is a main road running close to part of the heath where you may need to walk your dog with a lead. The café on site is excellent , and very popular with dog owners , walkers and families offering food and refreshments plus there is also an outside seating area ,but dogs must be kept, on a lead. We walk our dog here on a regular basis and she loves the experience. Highly recommended.

In most nature reserves, it's kindly requested to keep dogs on a lead at all times. Allowing dogs to roam off-lead can create issues or cause distress to livestock and wildlife.
If you see other visitors, please put your dog on lead whilst you are walking near them. Nature reserves are for the benefit of wildlife and frequently host educational visits.
Some nature reserves have dog poo bins, but if you can’t find one please take the waste home with you.
