About this walk

Free parking at Botolphs Bridge Inn in West Hythe. The canal path runs left and right from here. Flat and level walk where dogs can run off lead either on a path or up on a grassy bank. Dogs can swim at points along the canal. The tow path is popular with cyclists and horses but the grassy top is reserved for bikers and dogs only. Beautiful scenery and even a chance to see wild African animals as the route passes the plains of Port Lympne Safari Park- who knew there were zebras and giraffes roaming free in Kent! Lots of picnic areas on route, but no toilet or refreshments on route, although pubs nearby are dog friendly.

Added: This walk indicates that parking is accessible at the Botolphs Bridge Inn. This establishment is privately owned, functioning as a pub/restaurant with amenities. The proprietors have conveyed their willingness (consistently maintained) to allow parking for those embarking on a walk. However, please consider this when opting to park at this spot.
