There are plenty of variations of walks round here but this is a nice circular one. It passes open fields, the river Mersey, sale water park and Jackson's bridge.
Start at the carpark and take the path straight up (there are 3 but any one is fine). You will come out by a little bridge..make sure you are to the right of it. To your right there is a little cut through to some open fields. Walk through.
At the end of the field is a path..cross this info the next set if fields. These are playing fields where football etc takes place. Turn and walk left through them.
At the end you reach another parth. Turn slightly left and you will see some steps. Go up - these take you to the river.
At the river turn right. Continue walking to the end where you see a bridge. Once there cross the bridge.
You come out at sale waterpark. Walk straight and this will take you round the waterpark.
Once you've done a half circuit you come across stepping stones. Go over these and then you'll see a little gate ahead. Go through. Turn left and walk through along the water. Once you reach a bridge cross it.
Once over the bridge you come to more fields. Go over these and you'll see a river bank. There are some little steps. Once up these turn right and you are back at the river.
Walk towards the green bridge. If you wish to stop there's a pub at Jackson's bridge.
Cross the bridge and turn left. Walk a shortish distance and you'll see a path with a gate to your right. Follow this and you'll see you are back at the first little bridge. Pick one of the 3 paths to your right abs follow the steam back to the carpark.
This takes about 1.5hrs if you stop to play ball, dog swims in the river etc. you can extend it very easily.

Used to go here a couple of times a week, have moved away now but it was a great area to walk, so many different trails, route, paths etc etc Go round the Water Park at Sale or Chorlton or go either side of the River Mersey can make the walks as short OR long as you want 👍
