Parking available for free just off the road behind the Kingfisher building in Bacup OL13.
There's a lane that starts where the Tarmac road stops. Walk up the lane and will come to a cross road in the path. Left will go to Bacup park which is nice, there's a fenced off kids area, a stream, a fairy dell with fairy houses, duck pond, skate ramps, bike pump track and football pitch.
Right will go to the quarry and also to a mountain bike trail.
Straight ahead where the large metal gate is will take you straight up to quarry.
Keep going up the wide path and it will take you to the centre of the quarry with the sculpture.
There's lots of different routes you can take. Can be an hour or easily 3 hours to explore.
It is a mountain bike centre so there are sometimes competitions on (if this is the case it would be obvious when you park).
There are sheep dotted about the quarry.
There's a cafe on the main road near the parking. Doesn't allow dogs and shut on Sundays!!! Can sit outside but this road is busy and noisy.
There's a cafe in the park aswell.

Great dog walk! There are different -marked- routes you can choose from. Once you reach the top of the hills, the view down to the walley is breathtaking!.. You can walk for hours from hill to hill, and there's pond too, -or possibly more than one-. The only downside, that this is a favourite spot for rally bikers and quads, so they can be a bit disturbing, and sheep are not always inside the fences!. We've been only at the weekend, so not sure if the bikers there during weekdays.
