New rules displayed at West Stow show that it is no longer a Dog Friendly Country Park, a great shame. Although the forests around are wonderful for dogs off lead. West Stow Country Park needs to be removed from this Website. -

West Stow country park is on lead only and not good for dogs. If you go to the other side of the road into Kingswood and the west Stow Trail area you have lots of trails which are dog friendly. Hours of fun. -

Just been there after finding it on here today. Beautiful woodland walk with some open areas too. Sandy and fairly flat. It is a good 3 mile walk if you do the full circuit. Quite a bit is on hard packed forest roads but there are plenty of trails if you want to stay in the woods. As it is a Forestry Commission managed forest is laid out in blocks so should be easy to find your way back to the car (I did think I was lost at one point). If you head west on the main road afterwards towards West Stow Country park check out Fullers Mill Garden, it is fabulous with lovely tea rooms. -

We walk opposite the car park and park there too on the off-road section of the forest. It’s a great place to walk dogs. Even after weeks of rain it’s never muddy underfoot as it’s mainly sand based soil. Pathways in a grid like formation so you can make as short or long as you like- think it’s officially kingswood but if you put west stow park in and then just park slightly down from the entrance the other side of the road (you will often see cars parked there off-road - don’t try if your cars too low) off lead ability -
