Lovely walk around the lakes and River Ouse. Path in one place runs next to working quarry, but other than that dogs off lead. I recommend the River Trail.

In most nature reserves, it's kindly requested to keep dogs on a lead at all times. Allowing dogs to roam off-lead can create issues or cause distress to livestock and wildlife.

Some nature reserves have dog poo bins, but if you can’t find one please take the waste home with you.

Quite a few places dog needs to be on a lead and also places to be very aware of as a lorry drove nearby when we at the gravel pits. We also walked by cows on the meadow, although fortunately they were all calm and the dog didn't notice. We did about 3.5 miles, next time we will go straight to the river walk. -

Great place to walk your dog off lead free parking. Gets very busy in school hols so best to keep to grass paths along side river .

Location details
Park at the visitors centre for free, but it’s not huge. Was filled up by the time I finished our walk.
