About this walk

Hankley Common - A lovely large common and heathland intermixed with pine woods, with a mixture of hills and flat areas. Great views over Surrey. A round walk of the main common should take about 1 hour. However the number of other areas, and side commons, with dozens of paths means you could spend a much longer time enjoying the area.

Be warned this is MOD land used for training. Public are allowed with their dogs and/or horses, however there are often soldiers training. Sometimes bangs and flashes. (so if your dog is not used to this, it may be better to avoid)

Parking is free, a large sandy area for 20+ cars.

No toilets!

A great walk with a number of different paths to explore the common. The terrain in 'undulating' and very sandy but a good workout of you and your dogs!

So impressed with this walk we've been back a few times. Got a sense of de ja vu the first time because it's where the last scene in skyfall- the scene in 'Scotland' blowing up the house was filmed. Well worth it and also good for dogs learning to be social as it's not crowded and lots of space.

Great walk. Lots of routes to take, and plenty of off the track options if you so wish.

Great walk, dogs love it. miles of off road walking. Car Park can be busy but you can walk for hours without seeing a soul. just look out for army training days as MOD land.
