A 4-mile hike through woodlands and across fields, passing several historic places of interest (Hermit's Wood, All Saints Church, and the ruins of Dale Abbey).
It is a figure-eight circular walk starting and ending in a large layby where you can park your car.
There are a few steep hills and some of the paths can become quite muddy in wet weather.
Some of the fields do contain livestock (sheep, horses, cows).

Some parts of the ground is used as a bridleway so can be a little bit uneven when wet.
