This is a hilly walk with some difficult paths. 11.36km and took us 5 hours at a leisurely pace with lots of stops. In places there are sheep so dogs need to be kept on lead. There is a lovely bit along the river where dogs can swim and some fantastic views from the top. You will need an OS map to follow this route. From town follow the river out to the well sign posted Gelert's grave Then follow the footpath along the river down to Pont Aberglaslyn just short of Nantmor then follow the footpath up Cwm Bychan past the Sheepfolds and Tip to Bwlch-y-Sygyn, follow the path along to Grib Ddu and down to Llyn Dinas then follow the river back taking the path tht passes the copper mine and then follow the road (very quiet) back past Cae-du campsite to and turn left along the river back to town just before the A498.
