Huge long sandy beach and adjacent sand dunes. Plenty of opportunity to be off leash. Optional circular route on footpaths through dunes and via golf course. Great views of Snowdonia and of Harlech Castle. Good cafe at nearby Leisure Centre

Great beach for dog walks -

This is our daily walk as we live in the village. It's about 4.5km in a loop. The beach and sand dunes change weekly so the view and walk can be totally different each time. In short though, the beach and dunes are simply stunning. In total around 4miles of gorgeous sandy beach. You can walk along and through the dunes which the dogs love and there is a fresh water drain pipe halfway along the beach for a refreshing drink (for the dogs). At the far end of the beach, you can climb the zig-zag steps to the road but beware there is no footpath up there and it's a narrow road. But the view is incredible. This is the most picturesque easy walk and I highly recommend.

Location details
The lane down to the beach (Traeth) is well signposted from the A496, near Harlech Station. The lane runs alongside the secondary school, and leads to a huge car park.
