This is a there & back linear walk between Roger Penny Way, down through Howen Bottom to Eyeworth Pond. There is a pretty good graveled path along the entire route, which is pretty mud free, but as with all of the forest there is standing water & streams all over once off the path.
Parking is available at both ends. A formal car park is at available at Eyeworth Pond, but there is also room for 2-3 cars at the entrance to the route off Roger Penny Way. The marker post 17 can be found about 160 meters NW of the crossing of B3078 Roger Penny Way & Forest Road.

Really enjoyable and imagine it is even better in the summer. Parked at the Roger Penny Way end and walked down to the pond. Despite it being in te valley still quite a lot to see and the pond at the end is well maintained and worth the walk. Great way to stretch the legs and pass an hr, thanks MarkE...

Great walk for the dogs - lots of water for them to splash in. Parked in the Eyeworth car park next to the lake and walked up the valley. Some beautiful sights across the valley and of the meandering river. A bonus is that there is a pub a short drive from the car park - nice for a quick refreshment.
