About this walk

A woodland walk that takes you past several smaller waterfalls and the well-known larger waterfall. There are a few different paths, the main one takes you alongside the river and can be very muddy in winter / autumn! Dogs can be off-lead, there are farm animals on parts of the walk, especially cows in summer, so care must be taken to have dogs on lead at certain points.

You can start / finish this walk at Wilsden, Cullingworth or Harden.

Well what a lovely picturesque journey through the woods this was today. We spontaneously drove over from Huddersfield this morning and we were really pleased with our decision. We have an 8 month old very giddy and playful GSD who was able to go 95% of the journey off the lead. All the dogs we encountered were mostly off lead too and of very similar personality, waning to chase each other up and down and into the river which never really gets more than knee deep apart from where the waterfalls are, and there are many waterfalls. So many spots that make you stop and take in the gorgeous scenery. It took us 3 and a half hours to do the walk, with a slow pace, just really enjoying the surroundings. Definitely worth the drive if you live in Yorkshire.

Great walk. Lots of space for my four legged friend to run free and blow of some steam. The waterfalls are stunning.

Amazing place to walk, our dog was off his lead most of the way. We went during a weekday and we only saw two people. Definitely recommend

Lovely waterside walk. A little bit of scrambling but mainly accessible paths. Only access to the main fall involves metal steps.
