Privacy first

The privacy of your data — and it is your data, not ours — is a big deal to us. We've recently made a few changes that are privacy and security focused.

Your name is no longer a requirement when creating a Walkiees account.

It's long been a requirement when creating an account with Walkiees that you need to enter your first and last name. It's has never been displayed publicly on Walkiees and we only ever used it when addressing someone directly. You can still add it if you'd like, but it's no longer necessary.

Website interactions are now more privacy focused.

When you browse Walkiees, your web browser automatically shares information such as which operating system and browser version you are using.

We monitor that information, along with the pages you are visiting and which website referred you for statistical purposes and to test new designs.

This data was previously tied to your IP address but we have moved to a privacy focused service that allows us to continue to monitor site usage without collecting any personal data or personally identifiable information.

Look, no trackers!

Privacy first

These changes are part of the reason you don't see GDPR and cookie banners on Walkiees. Check the security badge in Safari, you'll see also see it reports no trackers being contacted.

We think it's important to protect any personal data you provide Walkiees and adhere to your right to keep it private. As always, we promise we never sell your data: never have, never will.

We have updated our terms and privacy policy and may amend these in the future.
