Many beaches and coastal locations impose dog walking restrictions during the spring and summer. The winter months usually mean quieter spots to get your paws wet. Here's a rundown of our most popular beaches and coastal dog walks.
Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire
A shingle beach walk for long distances in either direction from Marine Parade. View walk →
Fraisthorpe Beach, Bridlington
Many years back Fraisthorpe was a nudist beach. Thankfully, especially in British weather, dog walkers have taken over and this is one of the few beaches dogs are allowed all year round. Both winter and summer walks here are lovely. I almost don't want to share it, it's that good! View walk →
Anderby Creek, Skegness
Miles of beautiful sandy beach plenty of space for dogs and humans alike to have a good run and play. Sand dunes for nosey canine friends to investigate or to give a little shelter. It also has the worlds first "cloud bar" a viewing place complete with seating and mirrors for cloud spotting!

Bradwell Beach, Southminster
Located in front of the old power station (Although I hear it's to be brought back into service in a few years) is this little gem of a coastal walk. You may find a few people having a picnic on the sand at the start of the walk, but the further you walk, the less people you encounter. View walk →
Porth Kidney, St Ives
Porth Kidney is a large expanse of sandy beach. You can walk at high tide, but it really comes into its own at low tide when the seemingly endless golden sands provide a chance to run and run and run and paddle and run and swim and really have a good time. The beach inspired more than one John Miller (1931-2002) painting. View walk →
