About this walk

Rowney Warren is jointly managed by the Southill Estate and the Forestry Commission. The wood is predominantly planted with mixed pine trees, but also contains many old oaks and beech trees dating back over 100 years old. This is a fabulous place to walk dogs, with lots of paths and areas where they can explore and roam off leash. (Please note: most dogs encountered will be off-leash). There is ample parking in the parking area (check the website for opening/closing times, since there are gates), and on Friday & w/end there is an excellent little coffee van. The paths are hilly in places, and although fine to walk on, aren't all that suitable for wheels or elderly (not many/any places to stop and rest) The wood is lovely and very well maintained, but there is also fun to be had on the smaller less well travelled paths as well.

Plenty of parking. Lovely walk. Very quiet when I went but can imagine its different at weekends.

Amazing walk. Our lab crosses and golden loves exploring. If you want a quieter walk, cross over the road from the car park - the picnic crowd seem to stay on the car park side of the road.

Quieter and more interesting walks are often to be found over the road from the car park . Good place to take a dog on hot summer days as there is alot of shade afforded by the trees . Alround excellent dog walking location.
