This is a quiet circular walk mostly through woodland signs say dogs on lead or under close control for part of this walk largely because it is a private woodland used for pheasant rearing and shooting. Can be muddy in places. An OS map would be best when following this walk. From the church follow the footpath north along an access track past the houses at this point you can pick up the towpath along the canal and follow the canal into the Dark Wood, here you come across the grilled entrance to the Greywell Tunnel pass in front of this and pick up the permissive path up and away from the canal then take a left turn back onto the public footpath. follow this path to Greywell Hill Park (there is a good open area here where the dogs can have a good run) and pickup the footpath just inside the park which curves round to Nap Pond. From there follow the public footpath past Little Bacon Copse and into butter wood. Turn left on the footpath and continue parallel to the M3 (you can hear but not see it) From here the footpath then follows a access track back down towards the canal. From here you can either walk back along the canal or follow the footpath past the houses.
