About this walk
From the National Trust car park and Cafe there are a number of self guided trails, a leaflet is available for a donation from the gift shop. I followed the Roam 639 trail which was easy to follow using their map and the way markers. It is a circular route that broadly does a figure 8 past the visitor center so it is possible to stop 1/2 way for refreshment. It is 13km and took me a leisurely 3 hrs with a gift shop visit in the middle. There are some fantastic views across the punch bowl. The walk is busy at the start but soon thins out. From the car park follow the marked trail up to the Celtic Cross and across to the Temple of the Four Winds then back round onto Hindhead common, swing back past the coffee shop if you want before heading out on the second part of the walk following the path along to the Memorial then past Gnome Cottage and across Sugar Loaf Hill and back through the punch bowl to the car park.
