For a short walk drive down unmade track to car park and follow one of the marked trails. For a longer walk park at the top of the track just as the entrance road goes over the railway, then walk down the track keeping the railway on your right, follow this down to the car park then along the edge of the pond, follow the path round the pond. The path here comes very close to residential roads and housing so some dogs may need to be kept on lead. Continue to follow the path that runs along the edge of the housing and instead of looping left back round the pond follow the track straight on towards Pondtail and Pyestock Hill when the housing comes to an end turn right (west) to continue along a track which follows the edge of the housing. Keep going until you reach the canal. Once at the canal turn left and follow the towpath, then just before the road bridge take one of the paths off to the left into the Managed Access MOD land for a lovely walk up through the forest here there are lots of tracks and you can also pick up the footpath that takes you back towards the pond. Following the footpath I turned right (north east) to keep on the footpath which takes you all the way back to the track at the entrance. Takes about 1.5 - 2 hours.

Great walk, but blue-green algae is all over so the dogs have to be kept close to you near the water. And on some parts of the walk the train track is really close so if you dog likes to chase I'd recommend keeping them on a lead near it or just avoiding it completely.
