Foxton Locks Canal Walk

Enjoy a walk along the canal towpaths at the Foxton Locks heritage centre. There are plenty of routes, long and short all centred around the locks. Watch the boats navigate the locks with your dog on the lead before heading further out. The lock area is busy sometimes but wander 5 minutes away and there are less people and you can let your dog off. The paths are hard and flat so suitable for all. There also a number of footpaths running through the fields.

There is a dog friendly pub overlooking the basin and a number of cafes. With dog bowls and doggy icecream is available. There are toilets and parking in the long stay is £3 all day. So make the most of it.

If you enjoy people watching, stay at the locks but if you prefer quiet calm walks, then head away and you'll soon be alone. Please note, the canal side is flat with no barriers and some dogs could fall in if excitable.
