About this walk

There are nice walks around Tattershall, taking in the Castle and fenlands out the back. This walk can be reached through the Castle and the National Trust website has details of the heritage trail. Or you can access it from the village. Look out for the foot path signs near the Castle entrance. Walk across the weir and you will find several pathways in different directions. Follow the dykes and drains. This is a very flat gentle walk, taking in nature and great views of the Castle. The flat fields have a rural charm and there are big skies. You can often see planes from local RAF sites overhead.

Suitable for large or small dogs. Long or short walks.

There isn't anywhere to rest or sit, and I only saw 1 bin near the Castle. The town has facilities as does the Castle, which is worth a visit.

Lovely walk, made greater by a flying display from the nearby RAF base.

Location details

The Castle is signposted and has a carpark. We parked in the village square and walked to the footpath. The footpath is right near castle entrance. But we've also used the Castle carpark as well.
