I join the canal with my dogs at the Rufford train station (or canal marina cafe which has the most amazing cake!!! - best to book a table), or you can join at Burscough Bridge where lots of cafe/pubs. Can walk either way with dogs off lead if they behave around anyone fishing. Nice way to spend an hour. Easy enough to park.
