This wood is the most beautiful in the area. It is 90% enclosed so off lead walks are a joy. There are posts giving you directions fro the short and long walks. The carpet of bluebells against the trees is stunning

Absolutely love this wood, so much so that I drive 25 mins to reach it as I’ve got a dog that just does do parks or pavements and I don’t do anywhere where there’s water he can jump into! It’s not too small and yet not so big that you risk getting lost! Well defined pathways but also some ‘off-road’ in the woods. In my experience, the other dog walkers we meet are super friendly and often stop for a little chat. It’s very popular for a reason. However, at this time of the year it is very muddy in parts but well worth the inconvenience. The car park is smallish, and feels safe. Best of all, there’s never any evidence of any ‘nocturnal’ activity!

Leave the M40 at junction 10 and follow the signposts for the A43. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto the B1400 from where the wood is signposted with a brown sign. For the main entrance into Stoke Wood, follow the road for 1.5km and turn right into the small lane. After approximately 140m the entrance will be on the left hand side, next to the car park (not owned by the Trust) which holds around 30 cars.
