About this walk

Yew Tree Avenue is just outside Clipsham village. Part of the Forestry Commission, follow the line of over 100 Yew Tree's that once formed a drive. Your dog will love exploring amongst the shaped trees and having long runs.

The Avenue walk is only short but there is adjoining woodland all around to extend your walk.

The walks around are through grassland trails or follow the hard path directly from the car park. Dogs can bound over ditches, rummage in the woods and charge down the avenue. This place is always quite quiet and dogs can run free.

Car park, poo bins and benches on site. No other facilities. I can recommend the pubs in Stretton and Clipsham as dog friendly.

Perfectly tranquil and quiet Looks short and small, but is actually a decent sized walk, with benches, bins, free parking and safe to have dogs off lead.

I went up here in April and a lot of the side paths have been closed off now by the Forestry. The walk is much shorter. There is a 2nd walk further down the road if you want to extend it called George Henry Wood back on Clipsham road. Look out for small area to pull over and green sign on the right, if driving towards Stretton. Hard to see if you are driving fast.
