About this walk
Ancient woodland on the outskirts of Bourne, Lincolnshire. Easy to find as sign posted off the main road. Follow the track to a large free car park and picnic area.
One of my regular go to places. The woods has a long square route that can be cut down into smaller routes via the many side paths and cut throughs. You can do a quick 30 mins, 1 hour square. I've never walked the whole place as my dog is to small but I imagine you could spend several hours here. Run along stone paths, ideal for buggies or wheelchairs. Or go off path. Dogs run free off lead in and out of the trees. Try and find the pond as dogs like it here. Lots of gullies with water as well. The large trees are beautiful. There are sign posts and benches enroute. No poo bins and the toilets are shut though.
See lots of nature, birds, deer, frogs. A nice calm peaceful place. Never crowded but you might find other walkers and some bikes in the warmer months. Can be boggy off track in the winter.
